For the guests at Mikeno Lodge, you need to know that you will spend strictly one hour with the gorillas once found. You also view them from a certain distance of at least 7 meters away; this is to prevent the spread of diseases to the primates – as their DNA is nearly the same as of humans, and so they can catch certain human diseases as well.
